Aeroporto Internacional de Aracaju - Santa Maria
Real Estate Aena:
An innovative real estate project begins to be implemented in Aracaju (Brazil) to transform the surroundings of airports and expand the offer and quality of services.
More services, new hotels, restaurants, convention center, shopping spaces, distribution and logistics enterprises. After transforming the six airports it operates in the Northeast into modern, comfortable, and technological infrastructures, Aena now begins Real Estate, an innovative initiative that will impact the entire airport surroundings. The project is based on the aerotropolis concept, or airport city.
The idea combines new urban planning concepts and the real estate market’s actions, integrating airports with cities and establishing new, more qualified uses for areas that have no operational function. The result is a complete modification of the landscape, which will adapt sustainably and planned to the economic and social development of the territory where the airports operate. The project also elevates the offer and level of services provided to passengers.
To implement the program—based on a model already being tested in several cities worldwide - Aena mapped the types of developments that align with each airport, addressing local demands in Aracaju. Thus, the project brings improvements to the city and adds value to the territory, ensuring sustainability, careful urban planning, and respect for the municipality’s master plan.
Aena is seeking investors interested in entrepreneurship. To learn more about the project and discuss partnerships, contact us:

The Airport:
The smallest state in Brazil, Sergipe is full of natural beauty, with beautiful warm-water beaches and rich cultural manifestations, hosting one of the biggest June festivals in northeastern Brazil. Sergipe also has historic cities like São Cristóvão and Laranjeiras, and the Xingó Canyons, a set of reddish rock formations cut by the São Francisco River in the municipality of Canindé do São Francisco, in the northeastern hinterland. The Santa Maria International Airport – Aracaju (SBAR), located near the city center, receives more than 1 million passengers a year.
