What are the rules for traveling with domestic animals?

What are the guidelines for importing plant and animal origin products from abroad?

Can a passenger take native plants, animals, or biological material from Brazil to a foreign country?
Yes, as long as they have legal origin and the person obtains a license from IBAMA (Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources). The license application must be filled out on the IBAMA website, under the option "Services," "License for import or export of flora and fauna - Cites and non-Cites."
The request can only be made by individuals or legal entities registered in IBAMA's Federal Technical Registry, which can be obtained on the IBAMA website under the option "Services," "Register." The filled-out application should be sent to IBAMA, and the progress can be tracked by the applicant in real time.
Once the application is approved and the corresponding fee is paid, the license is issued. However, it should be noted that there are animal species whose importation is prohibited. The international transportation of animals considered domestic according to IBAMA Ordinance No. 93/1998, such as dogs and cats, is exempt from IBAMA's license requirement.
