What can I carry in my baggage?
When packing your bags, be aware of prohibited or restricted items for transportation. Check with the contracted airline for specific rules regarding the item you intend to bring on the trip.
Also, read the contract signed with the airline at the time of ticket purchase. The rules for weight limits, dimensions, and amount of luggage depend on the chosen and paid-for baggage allowance by the passenger.
Do not accept to carry items for strangers, as they may contain unauthorized items for air transport.
To know what you can carry, consult the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac). And remember, certain items have transport restrictions to ensure flight safety.

What is the permitted size for carry-on baggage?
Passengers have the right to carry up to 10 kilograms in the aircraft cabin without any additional cost. In domestic flights, the baggage cannot exceed 115 centimeters in total dimensions (height + length + width).
If it exceeds this specification, the airline may require the baggage to be checked in. Additionally, for security or aircraft capacity reasons, the airline has the right to restrict the weight and content of carry-on baggage.

What is the weight limit for checked baggage without additional cost?
There is no minimum and mandatory allowance set by airlines for checked baggage in the aircraft hold. Each airline will define weight limits, quantity, and dimensions of checked baggage, as well as whether or not they will charge for this service. This rule applies to both regular and special baggage.
Therefore, the limit for baggage without additional cost will depend on the chosen and paid-for baggage allowance by the passenger. The airline must provide information on fees and transportation conditions. All information must be included in the contract between the passenger and the airline at the time of ticket purchase. How do I check valuable items in my baggage?
It is recommended to carry valuable items such as jewelry, negotiable papers, cash, and electronics in your carry-on baggage. However, if it is necessary to check in the valuable item, the passenger must fill out a special value declaration form at the time of check-in. The airline should provide the passenger with a copy of the completed form. The airline is allowed to inspect the contents of the package and may charge an additional fee based on the declared value. In case of theft or loss of the items, the airline should compensate the passenger according to the declared amount. Please consult the airline for more information.
Are baggage rules for international flights different from domestic flights?
Yes. Some items allowed on domestic flights may not be permitted on international flights due to the regulations of the destination country. Please consult the airline and Anac for more information.
Who is responsible for returning my baggage?
The airline is responsible for it, preserving the luggage in the same condition as it was checked. The airport administrator is responsible for maintaining the conveyor belts and equipment in operation.
What should I do when there are issues with the return of my baggage?
Contact the airline, preferably still in the baggage claim area. The incident needs to be documented in a form provided by the airline or in any other written communication. To make a complaint, it is necessary to present the baggage check receipt.
In case of loss, if the baggage is located by the airline, it should be delivered to the address provided by the passenger. The baggage can remain in a lost condition for up to 7 days for domestic flights and 21 days for international flights. If it is not located and delivered within the specified period, the airline must compensate the passenger within 7 days.
Passengers who are away from their place of residence have the right to receive reimbursement from the airline for emergency expenses during the period without their belongings.
It is worth noting that airlines are responsible for determining how to reimburse and daily limits of reimbursement. This payment must be made within 7 days from the submission of the receipts by the passenger.

What is the limit for personal hygiene liquids in carry-on baggage?
First of all, liquid and paste items such as shampoos, conditioners and moisturizers, for example, don’t have restrictions on carry-on baggage for domestic flights.
However, for international flights it's different: liquid containers with a capacity greater than 100 ml are also not allowed in the aircraft cabin.
Even for domestic flights, aerosols and atomizers cannot be carried in carry-on baggage, except for medical or personal hygiene use, such as deodorants, perfumes and shaving foams. And even in these cases, aerosols can only be carried in carry-on baggage in quantities of up to four containers per person, with each container observing the limit of 300 ml or 300 g.
If you wish to transport these hygiene items in checked baggage, there are also restrictions for aerosols such as hair sprays, perfumes, colognes, shaving gels, repellents, deodorants, and others. The following limits must be observed:
• Not more than 0.5 kg or 0.5 L per item.
• Valves must be protected to prevent the release of contents.
• Not more than 2 kg or 2 L in the total sum of all items.
Seek further information from the airline. You can also check with ANAC for rules regarding the transportation of liquids and baggage.
